Say Pants to Poverty!
Back by popular demand - well at least one student asked me! - Gunk
Dunc. Over the years Gunk Duncs have raised over £750 for Comic
Relief and Children in Need. I am sure you all know that this Friday
16th March is Comic Relief day. This year I'll again be doing my bit
to help say Pants to Poverty!
As usual I'm looking for sponsorship - notionally 3 sponges for a
quid or £10 for a bucket - and students in the past have had a
whip-round (ooh!) to raise the cash to impose 30-45 minutes of abject
misery and humiliation upon me. (Only seems fair since I return the
favour in every lecture ;-))
As an added incentive this year I am throwing in a shaven and
blue-painted head if I am pledged more than £250. Why the blue
shaven head? Well 'advertising' Intel processors in this way would
be for me the ultimate humiliation!! [See http://www.itanium.com/ for
an example.]
Where: Outside the Sports Hall at midday
When: Friday (Duh! ;-))
Why: Need you ask!
Who: Me, and everyone else that wants to Gunk Dunc
My web page http://www.smeed.org/comicrelief will be updated with the
latest news on Gunc Dunk, photos after the event. If need be I may
send one more e-mail if there are any changes to the event details.
I'm also looking for some students to help organise the event -
bucket fillers, cash collectors, etc.
If you are willing to sponsor/help with Gunk Dunc then please let me
know. I'll probably make the rounds during labs, etc., to chivvie up
some support too. I don't need to know the amount of sponsorship in
your reply to this e-mail - I know it'll be what you can afford
and/or think it's worth ;-)
[ ] Yes, I will sponsor the Gunk Dunc event.
[ ] I can help if you'd like.
[ ] No, I won't sponsor the Gunk Dunc event since I've already
sponsored/contributed to Comic Relief but good luck anyway!
<humour type="tongue in cheek">
[ ] No, I won't sponsor the Gunk Dunc stunt (or any other Comic Relief event
for that matter) and I'm not even going to reply to this e-mail for the
following reasons (tick all that apply):
a. [ ] I have no idea who you are
b. [ ] I think you're pants anyway
c. [ ] You failed me in one (or more) of your classes
d. [ ] I think you're a smug irritating b******d
e. [ ] Your 26% beat me in the http://www.thespark.com/bastardtest
f. [ ] You think you're funny bit you're not in the slightest
g. [ ] I think Intel's architecture is the best in the world and I won't
have anything to do with someone who pokes fun at it
h. [ ] Did I mention that I think you're pants?
i. [ ] I couldn't give a toss about the starving and poverty-stricken
j. [ ] I'm in a huff since I don't think Vanessa Feltz should have
been evicted from Celebrity Big Brother
k. [ ] I'm in a huff since Anthea Turner has not been evicted from
Celebrity Big Brother
l. [ ] I still think your pants
m. [ ] I have nightmares about you and pants
n. [ ] This is getting silly...
o. [ ] It's nothing personal ;-)
p. [ ] P is for Pants - I think I mentioned that you're these already!!
